Jedi-Zen
Star Wars: Attack of The Clones

Overall:
The penultimate Star Wars film finds Padme Amidala, now Senator of her planet of Naboo, on the hitlist of a bounty hunter (Temuera Morrison). Obi-Wan Kenobi and his now-grown Padawan, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), are charged to protect the Senator at all costs, as she is a key member for the Loyalist Commitee. This group of Senators have been fighting off the Military Creation Act, which they fear will antagonize the Separatists and bring the splitting Republic to its knees in war.
As Obi-Wan heads off to discover the origins of this death mark on the Senator, he stumbles across a strange and secret Clone Army being created for the Republic, which had been ordered almost ten years previously by one of the Jedi Order! As his myster thickens, Obi-Wan not only finds Padme's attacker, but is also captured by Count Dooku (Christopher Lee), renegade ex-Jedi and the former Master of the late Qui-Gon Jinn, on the planet of Geonosis.
Meanwhile, Anakin struggles with his growing feelings for Padme and his fear for his mother's safety as he attempts to walk the path of a Jedi. Giving in to both anger and temptation, Anakin races to his mother's rescue before racing to Obi-Wan's side. In a climactic battle between Jedi and Sith, Anakin looses an arm, gains a wife, and sees the ushering in of the greatest conflict known in that Galaxy Far, Far Away.
Begun, the Clone War has.
Likes:
Okay, so not my favourite prequel by any means. But it has some kicking action and you really can't go wrong with lightsabre fighting. Also, I found the visuals outstripped the other movies by far.
And I want a Jedi Starfighter. ...Please?
Dislikes:
...where do I start? For one, the romantic bit between Padme and Anakin is atrocious. I can write better than that and I really, really suck at romance writing. As much as Hayden (bless him) is a hottie Jedi, by the end I wanted to shove his lightsabre down his throat and push the button.
But Hayden can act, I assure you. It's just the character that has this 2-year-old complex that is really unbecoming.
More lightsabre fighting, dang it! What the heck kind of representation was that? At least TPM had a nice, long duel at the end. This one was kind of short and really unsatisfying.
In Closing:
Meh. I can take it or leave it. It's my Empire Strikes Back of the prequel trilogy. Will choose The Phantom Menace over this any day, but will choose Attack of the Clones over anything non-Star Wars (unless it's a non-Star Wars that I actually like...).
